This year, HomeAid, a nonprofit developer of housing and programmatic facilities for people experiencing homelessness, hosted a diaper and wipes drive to assist families in need. Washington D.C. Division President Alicia Skoug is on the board at HomeAid and shared the initiative with the division. Employees stepped up to help and started bringing in boxes upon boxes of diapers and wipes.
After collecting for a month straight, they were able to turn over an overflowing collection of supplies to HomeAid. However, HomeAid ended up shorthanded for delivery volunteers, so Alicia sent an inquiry out to employees to see if anyone would be willing to help. Drees employees Amber Moore, Angie Cruz, Steve Shaner and Ben Addie dropped what they were doing to assist.
HomeAid organized delivery of 148,813 diapers and wipes to shelters. It took over 20 volunteers to deliver this astounding number of diapers and wipes.
Special thanks to the Drees employees who donated to this special initiative and Steve, Ben, Amber and Angie for aiding in distribution!
